Dr. Greiser,
Greetings.
Lee Shadeck - former Case Manager (Marvin Smith, Marcia Richirdson, Audrey Kendrick, Ralph Huffman, Richard and a host of others) turned counselor in 2011 and at the start of the pandemic I picked up painting…and haven’t put it down.
I paint Erie. Often I look for people who are trying in some capacity to make their environment better; I paint something for them (usually their house) and give it to them as a thank you for your efforts- kinda thing. In a hope to spread some joy; hone my painting skills; and move paintings. I paint 1-3 paintings a day….and only have so much wall space. So this is a good outlet.
I painted this for you- because of your dedication to our community and the underserved populations here. The reason I steered very difficult people to Plaza 18 wasn’t solely for medical care. What good is taking a horse to water if he won’t drink. So often people with disabilities are seen as less than- and treated as less than.
You always made space to treat my clients quickly- but with dignity and respect.
Thank you for the efforts you have put into our community and the way you have treated others; it has been noticed.
Sincerely,
Lee Lucian Shadeck
