White Tail Buck

The park has a population of white tail that seems to fluctuate between 15-40 deer or so and is controlled by an annual 2 day hunt to try and keep the heard around 15-20 deer - so that they do not eat the park away…

In general these more urban deer seem more accustomed to people and a tad smaller than the beasts that jump out in front of our cars in more southern Erie County.  But over the years I have spotted a few decent sized deer both on the park; and a tad more startling - just roaming around the city. 

Actually Winnie needed to pause her run this summer right on 2nd and Cherry as to not get run over by a medium sized buck.
